I belong to the Mounted Volunteer Patrol. We are attached to three agencies: National Park Service, California State Parks, and Mountains Conservation Authority. My partner, Avi Benami, and I primarily patrol Rancho Sierra Vista and Point Mugu State Park, in the Santa Monica mountains between Topanga Canyon and Point Mugu. We have a companion group, the Mountain Bike Unit, pictured in one of the photos after a joint rescue. Of course we also enjoy just hanging out with our park visitors. –LRG Customer, Brent Lamb

The three pictures on sand are at our favorite riding spot, Spring Creek, in Spring, TX. The photo with the airplane in the background is at the Houston Intercontinental Airport, where I am a member of the Houston Airport Rangers, a volunteer security program. Gusto is an 11-year-old half Arabian, half Shagya gelding. Thanks for letting me share!

Hi Ladies!
Long Rider’s Gear has always been my favorite place to buy endurance tack! I’m finally back on the endurance trail with my new guy, J.J. (Jovial Jubellee). Here we are last weekend at the “Tour de Cooley,” day 2 of the Cooley Ranch Ride. His 2nd ride and we had a blast! I was lucky to be able to use my Ortho-Flex saddle from my previous horse with him, which with the help of a Woolback Pad, suits him perfectly! Much of the tack you see in the photo came from your store over the years, including the cantle bag, Zilco Breastplate, endurance reins and more.
When we’re not riding LD endurance, you’ll often find us on the trails as part of the California State Parks and Sonoma County Regional Parks Mounted Assistance Units. We love doing MAU work, providing assistance for lost hikers, clearing trail hazards and reporting problems to the head ranger. J.J. is such a steady individual, we also do Geocaching. This GPS guided treasure hunt is lots of fun, you can find out more at: Geocaching.com.
Thanks for you years of hard work, keep it up!

Hi, Long Riders! Here is a picture of me and my horse Jubilee. I’ve used my Zilco reins & endurance halter bridle almost daily since I purchased them 4 years ago. They’re super easy to clean … just dunk in in some water and towel it dry. I rode a few times this winter when the wind-chill here in Reading, PA was below zero and it was more supple than my best leather bridle! There has been no fade to its color (black). My overall satisfaction led me to recently purchase the matching Zilco endurance breastplate with a running martingale attachment and I love that the adjust-ability makes for a perfect fit.”
